According to vedic philosophy humanity moves through cycles, we move through daily, monthly, yearly, life, and on a greater scale humanity itself moves through a collective cycle. It is predicted that we are in a time of deep human transformation and evolution. That the consciousness of man is in a growth phase that will require adapting to new paradigms of thinking. Yogi Bhajan taught that this new time and the pain in our world requires a more feminine approach to action. The Dalai Lama said, “Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive”. This transition requires a heart centered more yin/feminine approach for our inventiveness to open up with the inclusiveness that our humanity is so thirsty for.
The masculine approach that the previous age of Pisces was driven by gave us a strong sense of individual advancement; a “What’s in it for me” attitude. Mini computers delivering news from across the world, an infinite bank of answers, and even directions for the fastest way to get to work were not available. Times prior to the information age were very different.
These changing times have provided a forward motion in technology that has lead to proof that energy exists, that the cells in your body have a memory and respond to the environment, and those discoveries are what the age of Aquarius are built on. We are swimming in each other’s fear, hatred, panic, hope, kindness, and love. It can be overwhelming at times to be in a world that is centered on personal gain when we have proof that the feelings we experience may be a cocktail or our own and the collective.
We are at the bend. The Aquarian age is barely at our feet and we must learn to be responsible with the power available in free knowledge and the influence our energy can serve. We are newborns in this age. Who’s arms will hold us? There is no manual for this collective growth spurt. The closest instruction comes from the sacred scriptures and wise ones who have been suggesting spiritual and energetic tools as anchors to help navigate the road ahead.
It is important to understand that speaking of feminine and masculine energy in this context is not about gender. It’s about innate qualities that each individual have in their own special measurements. The feminine energy that is needed right now is about feeling, compassion, wholeness, community, softness in embracing change, multidirectional vision, that is Shakti. This power is not only love but the fierce defender of the weak and her cubs. She realizes if one is lost it weakens the whole pack. The Divine Feminine rides on a lion, armed with truths and not afraid to speak them. She lights you up from inside with her uncoiling. She is the Kundalini.
The Adi Shakti principle belongs to mother earth and she weaves reality into every second with the elements. We are all born of these elements, her dna spinning in our cells, direct lines of the feminine and masculine stitching us together. We are here at this bend in time and space to honor the lineage that connects us all. This is a time to utilize the gifts of our evolution to raise consciousness and open the doors to what is possible when we dance in a bigger cycle that embraces all life. This energy is non binary. Shakti is the heartbeat inside you, it is the flowing of the tides that sync with the moon, the falling in love without instruction; non discriminating and pure.
To help you feel the pulse of Shakti I have picked my favorite version of the mantra for you. Listen to it while driving with the windows down, let it be the background to your daydream this weekend, allow your body to sway and embody your divine feminine. This mantra is to be felt.
Adi Shakti: BenJahmin, Wholly Woman
Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Namo Namo Sarab Shakti, Sarab Shakti, Sarab Shakti, Namo Namo Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Namo Namo Kundalini Mata Shakti, Mata Shakti, Namo Namo
I bow to the primal power. I bow to the all encompassing power and energy. I bow to that through which God creates. I bow to the creative power of the Kundalini, the Divine Mother Power.
